WORKSHOPS

We offer exceptional workshops in singing for people of all levels of confidence, ability and musical knowledge. Contrary to popular belief, experience tells us that it is not great singers that make a great sound in a group, but individual qualities such as enthusiasm, listening ability, sensitivity and warmth to others. These are essential qualities for any team, and using singing as a team-building activity fosters deep connectivity. Singing opens the chest and heart, improves respiration and oxygen, produces endorphins and increases confidence.

“On several occasions I have worked with groups that are very tense and unable to tune to one another, regardless of their ability. After relaxation exercises such as laughter, other icebreakers and a small amount of physical contact with each other, suddenly an incredible and harmonious sound pours forth. People constantly declare that they cannot sing and that I have NEVER heard anyone as bad as they are. Yet I have not met a single person who doesn’t improve or cannot join in in a way that is satisfying to themselves and to the group. If you have a voice and you are relaxed, you can sing. I enjoy a lot of banter with the groups as we learn. As with anything, it is simply a matter of practice. I challenge you to challenge me! Bring me into your workplace or community group: not only is it excellent for your physical, emotional and mental wellbeing, you might just have the time of your life!” Charlotte Eaton, Lifebulb MD, choir director and BA Hons in Music.

Sessions include repertoire from all over the world in 3 and 4 part harmonies and a break for tea and chat. There are informal performances at the end of each term to support the choir’s progress, deepen the shared experience with one another and to show friends and family what you have been working on.
